Baseball Player Arrested for DUI in Tampa with BAC Below 0.08

Posted by:

Can you just hear the music, that grand ole baseball song? “TAKE me out to the baaaallll game… buy me some peanuts and cracker jacks… I don’t care if I EVER come back!” Well, if you’re a New York Yankee and you’re drinking a couple of beers and you blow even *below the legal limit, you ain’t “coming back” and you sure ain’t singing as you’re off to see the wizard in a Tampa jail!

It’s true, it was 3 in the morning and he was driving fast, but hey, you don’t have to be a Ft Lauderdale criminal defense lawyer like me (or a Tampa criminal defense lawyer) or South Florida trial lawyer to know that a 21 year old Yankee could be driving this way at that hour for other reasons! Perhaps he was fatigued beyond measure by exhausting “work outs,” and let’s be real, some athletes are too aggressive from steroids or testosterone shots or just because of plain ole young and dumb youth; but whatever it was, he’s jailed for a DUI after blowing *below the legal limit!

Check out the discretion and benevolence that this Yankee ballplayer did NOT receive: http://tbo.com/news/crime/yankees-prospect-arrested-for-dui-in-tampa-b82483543z1
